About MDJ Group

MDJ Group provides a platform for connecting founders with experienced operators and individuals who may choose to participate in investment opportunities. This website highlights those individuals, their experience, and companies with which they have been involved. MDJ Group does not operate a pooled investment fund.

Separate investments and individual participation

Each investment is made through a separately formed LLC. Participating members contribute funds directly to that LLC, rather than to MDJ Group. Each member independently decides whether to participate; being featured on this website does not mean that an individual participates in every opportunity.

Members in each investment LLC participate on the same terms, with rights and economic interests proportionate to their ownership percentages, as set out in that LLC’s governing documents. Those documents determine the members’ rights, obligations, and responsibilities. References on this website to “we,” “our,” “partners,” or “our portfolio” describe the collective experience and activities of participating individuals and do not mean that MDJ Group owns every investment or that all featured individuals invest together.

No compensation

Neither MDJ Group nor Dave Gilden receives compensation for organizing or managing these investment arrangements. There are no management fees, carried interest, transaction fees, or other compensation paid to MDJ Group or Dave Gilden for those activities. Any returns Dave receives as an investing member arise from his ownership interest on the same terms as other members.
